A knee injury robbed Nyara Sabally of her 2022 season, with the silver lining being that one year later she’s back in action playing on one of the WNBA’s most loaded rosters. The fifth overall pick in the 2022 draft had to wait until the New York Liberty’s third game to hit the floor, and when she did she made an instant impact against a similarly-talented Connecticut Sun squad. Sabally showcased her strength when she received a pass in the post and took her defender to school, muscling her way closer to the rim with impressive footwork before finishing with a layup. Sabally went 3 for 6 in a 14-minute run off the bench as she contributed six points and three rebounds in the Liberty’s impressive 81-65 victory on May 27, 2023.
