Ja Morant

Metallic Silver

FANDOMSeries 2024-25LEMint 219Memphis Grizzlies

Knowing it to be only a matter of time before Memphis got its thunder stolen by the Suns’ 30,000-point scoring star, Ja Morant perhaps reasoned that any must-see moves had to be done one way: with lightning-quick speed. Accurately described as “can’t miss,” yet difficult to contain at once, Morant introduces his open-floor superpower, challenging Tyus Jones’ balance with a powerful pound dribble that threatens a right-side drive. Powerful and deceptive in his gather dribble in the opposite direction, Morant finishes with equal creativity, elevating into a double-clutch reverse that gently falls through the net. Morant’s elusive play, in some ways, told the story of February 11, 2025’s game, as the Memphis Grizzlies — ahead for 45 of a possible 48 minutes — remained one step ahead of the feisty-yet-flawed Phoenix Suns attack. Starring on the nationally-televised stage, Morant led the way in a pre-All-Star break win, collecting 26 points, seven rebounds, six assists, one steal, and a game-high +14 plus-minus.
