Before Bailey scored his firsrt NBA basket on October 23, 2025 against the Clippers, he fired a 30-foot cross-court pass that threaded through defenders. When Walter Clayton Jr. forced a steal moments later, Bailey took off in transition, caught the pass in stride and elevated for a thunderous one-handed slam that brought the Delta Center to its feet. The 6'9" wing from Chattanooga became Rutgers' highest draft pick after averaging 17.6 points and 7.2 rebounds as a freshman, including a 39-point explosion against Indiana. Utah grabbed him fifth overall for elite shot-making modeled after Kevin Durant, a McDonald's All-American whose scoring versatility and defensive length signal future impact.
