Few reach the WNBA at 28 as an undrafted training-camp invite, but Jovana Nogić arrived off a decorated overseas career, and the Mercury learned quickly what they had. Her debut came in Las Vegas, on the night the Aces raised the championship banner they won against Phoenix a year earlier. Nogić wasted no time, bringing the ball up and calling her own number before pulling up for a three on the right wing for her first career basket. She buried another from that identical spot off an Alyssa Thomas feed, then spotted up in the right corner as Thomas drove left and kicked for a third triple. Every point came before the break on an efficient 5-of-8 from the field, the opening note of a record-breaking start. Nogić finished with 19 points, five rebounds and two assists in a 99-66 rout.
