History does not get made quietly, and Washington proves that at CareFirst Arena. Portland's Bridget Carleton sends the game into a fourth overtime with a jumper at the buzzer, tying the longest game ever played in WNBA history, matching a 2001 classic between these same two cities. Then Sonia Citron delivers, dropping in the basket that puts Washington ahead to stay with 21.4 seconds left. The Mystics escape 124-123 in a game that came one period away from standing entirely alone in the record books.
