On the list of players compiling the most points in isolation, one can find future Hall of Famers, high-usage floor generals, and, fascinatingly, a seven-year big from Memphis who adds new wrinkles to his game every summer. During February 5, 2025’s battle between franchises embedded through the NBA’s global history together, Jaren Jackson Jr. had no plans of being too closely connected, routinely using perfectly-sequenced dribbles and spins to escape the Toronto Raptors’ defensive clutches. Each example arrived with Memphis attempting to stage a come-from-behind win after trailing for much of the first half. In between his nifty, guard-like ball handling displays, the newly-named two-time All-Star also sprinkled in catch-and-shoot trifectas, leaving himself safely described as unguardable throughout. Uniquely positioned as the only “center” to sit among the league’s top 20 scorers during one-on-one situations, Jackson — also boasting a career-low in unassisted two-pointers — became the top-fold story during Memphis’ 31-point win. By night’s conclusion, Jackson had pieced together a 32-point performance (on 10-of-16 shooting), paired with five rebounds, four assists, one block, and four 3-pointers.
