Quietly one of his generation’s more consistent performers, Jordan Clarkson decided to usher in 2024 in the loudest way possible: producing his franchise’s first triple-double in 16 years. Always unique in his playstyle, Clarkson gets creative, corralling a loose ball before contorting into a full 360-spin to find a teammate for an alley-oop finish. Minutes later, he finds himself in the right place at the right time, deflecting an errant pass to set up a 2-on-1 before unselfishly uncorking a behind-the-shoulder dime to a trailing teammate. Playing the role of floor general, the Utah Jazz guard provides another highlight, using a nifty behind-the-back dribble to draw in three Dallas Mavericks defenders to set the scene for another over-the-head dime for a 3-point bucket. Victory in hand, all that was needed was a single rebound, which Clarkson tracked down late in the fourth, much to the delight of his teammates. Stringing the Jazz to a win, Clarkson’s final tally on January 1, 2024 read as follows: 20 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assists, one steal, and a +36 in just 27 minutes of play.
