Big men who can operate with guard-like finesse are rare, but Derik Queen proved he belongs in that elite category early in his rookie campaign. Playing on the road at San Antonio, the Pelicans center caught the ball on the left block with the shot clock winding down in the opening quarter. Queen sized up his defender, executed a textbook spin move toward the middle, then elevated for a turnaround fadeaway jumper that found nothing but net from 12 feet out. The 13th pick in the 2025 Draft has already drawn praise from Hall of Famer Tim Duncan and three-time MVP Nikola Jokic, who both recognized their own rare, crafty styles in the rookie's game.
