Undrafted, overlooked, and sent overseas, Sydney Taylor made her first WNBA start count in a way few could have scripted. In a Commissioner's Cup clash at Wintrust Arena, the Chicago Sky rookie stepped into the starting lineup and delivered 24 points on 10-of-16 shooting, going 4-of-7 from three, adding three steals and two assists. The Sky dropped a heartbreaker, 96-95, on Sabrina Ionescu's layup with 10 seconds left, but Taylor's breakout performance gave Chicago's long-suffering fanbase something to believe in.
