Everyone gets a first. Kevin Garnett's arrived on April 10, 2000, with Detroit having just tied it at 100 and 2.4 seconds left on the clock. Minnesota called timeout, Sam Mitchell inbounded, and three Pistons converged as Garnett stepped into the lane and lofted a 10-foot floater over all of them. It fluttered through at the horn for a 102-100 win, and the 23-year-old took off around the floor with his arms out like a kid playing airplane. It was Minnesota's 26th home win of the season, tying a franchise record, and the first of five game-winning buzzer-beaters Garnett would collect, a total only 10 other players in league history have matched. He finished with 25 points.
