SCANNING THE MARKETPLACE…
Long before the crossovers became a genre of their own, Jamal Crawford was a 21-year-old learning the NBA in Chicago. On April 11, 2001 in Washington, the Bulls turned one of their 15 steals into a break, and the ball found Crawford running the middle. He took it in stride, gathered and threw it down with two hands, the kind of straight-line athleticism that later got lost behind the handle. He shot 7-of-10 from the floor in a 113-109 road win, the eighth pick of the 2000 draft looking every bit the part. Nineteen more seasons brought three Sixth Man of the Year awards, 50-point games for four different franchises and more four-point plays than anyone in league history. Crawford's line read 17 points, four rebounds and four assists.
