The 24th pick of the 1992 draft was not supposed to be the one taking that shot. Latrell Sprewell had worked his way into the Golden State starting lineup within weeks, and by April 8, 1993 he was the man the Warriors cleared the floor for. Trailing the Lakers by three with one second left in the fourth, Sprewell rose into a pull-up 3-pointer and buried it, sending the game to overtime and the Oakland crowd into a frenzy on the way to a 122-116 win. He shot 14-of-22 from the floor for 36 points and finished one rebound and one assist shy of a triple-double. All-NBA First Team followed the next season, along with the first of four All-Star selections. Sprewell totaled 36 points, nine rebounds, nine assists and two steals.
