SCANNING THE MARKETPLACE…
You can roster a team, build a lead, and still need one player willing to take the last shot. Enter Sydney Taylor, the undrafted rookie who signed a training camp deal with Chicago after years grinding in Lithuania and Poland. With the Sky having squandered a 21-point lead against the Golden State Valkyries, Taylor pulled up from three with 1.6 seconds on the clock and buried it, sending Chicago home with a 73-70 victory and their longest winning streak of the season at three games. It is becoming a pattern: Taylor also hit a game-winner with less than a second left earlier this year to beat the Aces.
