Sharing November 18, 2024’s stage with a team allowing the NBA’s friendliest numbers to pick-and-roll bigs, Jericho Sims perhaps knew the likelihood of earning a chance in the spotlight around the rim. When said opportunity arose, the New York Knicks backup center, needless to say, found no issue rising right alongside it. Somewhat free in testing his limits with New York ahead by 20 in the second frame, Sims invites chaos through a series of barricade-like picks before ultimately settling on a screen-and-rescreen that springs him free towards the floor’s middle. Cashing in on his teammate’s pocket pass in a most literal sense, Sims turns the clock back to the 2023 Slam Dunk Contest, elevating Kyle Kuzma for a resourceful one-handed throwdown. Handedly defeating the Washington Wizards, the Knicks got to see Sims’ athleticism on numerous occasions, as the fourth-year big co-starred along the second unit, recording seven points (on three-of-four), seven rebounds, and one rejection.
