Two years earlier Drazen Petrovic had been a reserve fighting for minutes, and by the spring of 1992 he was one of the most accurate shooters in the league. Opening the playoffs against Cleveland on April 23, Petrovic caught it on the wing, sent his defender flying with a pump fake, stepped through into the space that opened and leaned in to finish through the contact. He kept going from there to 40 points, the highest postseason total of his career. The Croatian averaged 20.6 points that season and 22.3 the next, earned All-NBA Third Team honors, and has his number 3 hanging in the rafters. He entered the Naismith Hall of Fame in 2002.
