Adjusting his sights to a legitimate opportunity at stealing a Game Two victory over a team boasting an NBA-best 37-4 record at home, Herro takes command, first by disorienting the Boston Celtics’ defense with a physical ball screen. Prompt in recognizing the 5-on-4 advantage and a chance to drift into wide-open space atop the 3-point arc, Herro exploits it, drawing one help defender with a pump fake, and then a second after taking a calculated step towards the paint. With Boston’s defense now completely shuffled, Herro puts his court vision on showcase, knifing a no-look pass through traffic, setting the table for a teammate on the way to a two-handed jam. In constructing one of the most complete performances of his NBA career, Herro proved immeasurable in helping catapult the Heat to a postseason franchise-record 23 3-pointers in the series-tying Game Two triumph on April 24, 2024.
