Clever enough to create “basketball magic” when showcasing court vision and feel for the game, Josh Giddey found that his first legitimate one-two punch in the black-and-red would arrive alongside a player who once knew said term quite fondly. Rightfully returning to the source that completed all three of the assists during his Chicago Bulls debut, Giddey utilizes first a speedy between-the-leg dribble on a screen rejection, forcing a gravitational pull of the New Orleans Pelicans' defense upon his hard, left-side drive. Remaining calm, even after being encircled by red jerseys along the baseline, Giddey craftily pivots himself into position to deliver a pinpoint pass to his pick-and-roll partner, capturing another opening-quarter assist. Giddey’s highlight tape during his first Windy City audition routinely outlined that ability to put pressure on the rim in hopes of scoring opportunities, even during a hard-fought loss on October 23, 2024. Productive across multiple facets as always, the positionless fourth-year talent contributed 14 points (on 5-of-11 shooting), five rebounds, and three assists across 30 minutes.
