On a night in which Alperen Şengün’s rare blend of skill and selflessness encouraged above-season-average scoring on flawless efficiency, the highlight reels suggested that his accuracy in other facets was what truly stole the show. Flashing towards the floor’s middle, in hopes of relieving his star backcourt teammate from the Phoenix Suns’ double team pressures, Şengün moves ambitiously during a four-on-three, eyeballing a baseline cutter from the corner of his eye. Contorting his frame in ways that 6-foot-11, 235-pound bigs normally aren’t equipped to, Şengün missiles a behind-the-dime — leaving even his teammate slightly frozen — soon setting the stage for a nifty find and painless at-the-rim finish. No-look skip passes, “Dream”-like post spins, and power jams could be found throughout Şengün’s rolling tape on March 12, 2025, even given the fact that used only 19.7 percent of the Houston Rockets’ offensive possessions. Masterfully efficient in every way, the do-it-all Turkish big’s 20-point performance (on just seven attempts) went complemented through four rebounds, seven assists, one steal, one 3-pointer, a +15 plus-minus, and a victory.
