P.J. Washington

For the Win

RARESeries 2023-24LEMint 699Dallas Mavericks

Acquired by the Dallas Mavericks during the final, concluding hours of the 2024 NBA trade deadline, P.J. Washington found time to show his new team that he, too, knows a thing or two about buzzer-beating brilliance. Focused on punctuating the best game of his career to date in the blue-and-white threads with a victory, Washington times up a picture-perfect cut right into the teeth of the Golden State Warriors’ defense, corralling a pass before quickly banking it off the glass for the game-deciding score. Admittedly motivated to avenge a narrow loss to the Warriors just three days prior, the fifth-year forward proved unguardable across the floor in the win on April 5, 2024. Helping the Mavericks overcome the absence of their do-it-all five-time All-Star, Washington fulfilled the role brilliantly, tallying up 32 points, five rebounds, three assists, a career-high five steals, two blocks, and five 3-pointers.
