After turning the San Antonio Spurs’ giveaways into quick points on three separate occasions during December 5, 2024’s win, Ayo Dosunmu left it unquestioned, regarding his ability to make quick decisions with the basketball. Perhaps, then, it was of great irony that after securing both his first-ever NBA triple-double, and the basketball thereafter, Chicago’s fourth-year talent was unsure of if it should be framed. Creator of numerous highlights nonetheless, Dosunmu hustles into one of the night’s most memorable, tracking down a steal before immediately adjusting his sights to the open floor. Like a bull seeing red, Dosunmu — not bothered in the slightest by the six-inch, 50-pound size disadvantage against Zach Collins — attacks ambitiously, putting some, as the commentators called it, “butter on his roll” for a highlight finish. Bulls history was also achieved, as it marked the first time since 1993 that triple-doubles were accomplished in back-to-back games. Electrifying throughout, Dosunmu closed with 27 points (on just 13 shots), alongside 10 rebounds, 11 assists, three steals, three 3-pointers, and a +23 plus-minus.
